Monsters of Novelty by bLOBJECt
Our new album, Monsters of Novelty, has some very relevant tracks, coincidentally fitting in reference to this crazy pandemic.

Take track one for instance:
‘Fuss’- Musically can interpret the crazy, chaotic, ever evolving government reactions to this pandemic. Lyrically directing the narrative of prioritizing the essentials “if you must, you must, please don’t make a fuss” (reminiscent of gathering the essentials).

‘Get Comfy’- much as the title suggests, finding ways to remain comfortable in this lockdown situation, and settle in for the long haul.
‘Madness At Its Finest’- pretty self explanatory. Exploring important themes such as communication breakdowns, and, on the flip side, the ability to work together putting differences aside.
‘Captain Distracto’- just take a look at the narrative south of our borders and particularly the commander in chief. Fitting in these times.
These are just a few of the ways one could interpret this album during these times. The album cover in itself: the octopus grasping the planet, could be seen as ‘the virus’ plaguing our earth.
It’s important to mention that all these tracks were written and recorded before this global pandemic, the artwork conceived last year. Very coincidental, but very interesting none the less. We encourage you to click the link below and listen for yourself.
