Danielle from Second Wind Pilates Plus has started a timely Food Drive model for Collingwood’s two food banks, The Salvation Army Church and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
Called ONE COLLINGWOOD, the model has now been used for two communities in the area. Danielle and her volunteers have gathered approximately $4000 in funds and 3000 items for both organizations, in about 2 hours over two food drives. Their third drive is Saturday, May 2nd, Danielle hopes to add $1000 more dollars and 1000 more items.
The model is designed so that if you are located in Thornbury, the Blue Mountains or Meaford, the logo is simply changed to describe your area.
People are desperately in need of money and food NOW, and this now, will continue for some time. So if your community would like to take the non-perishable cans of food in your cupboards and share them with those whose cupboards are bare, please reach out to Danielle for advice on how. It is easy. You place your food in bags or boxes at the end of your driveways and have your volunteers from your community pick them up and deliver them to our food banks.
It is simple and you can easily take advantage of the work Danielle has done for you in advance. This way you can help others with ease and positive contagion. The experience is so so rewarding for the participants. ONE COLLINGWOOD is also life saving for those in need.
Let’s keep this simple! Our goal is to do the very best we can with open hearts, beautiful RED hearts! Yes, We Can!
